Corbis View offers new look at world's largest digital image archive.


BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1997--Corbis Corporation today introduced Corbis View(TM), a new service that enables creative professionals to view and order images via the Internet from the world's largest digital image archive.

This service will deliver images to users' desktops in minutes, providing fast and convenient access to the Corbis Archive, which features a vast array of high- quality historical, photographic and fine art images from more than 450 sources around the world.

"Corbis View combines the expertise of Corbis researchers with the speed of the Internet to make viewing and selecting images easier than ever before," said Mike Martucci, director of sales and marketing at Corbis. "All you have to do is log onto a computer with an Internet connection. Corbis View streamlines the professional image buyer's workflow The automatic routing of documents to the users responsible for working on them. Workflow is concerned with providing the information required to support each step of the business cycle. ; it also expands access to our rapidly growing digital collection."

Corbis' team of highly skilled photo researchers carefully selects images. Once a custom set of images is selected, it's quickly posted to a password-protected page within Corbis View, where the images can be previewed, ordered and downloaded for design layouts. With Corbis View, users can also access detailed information on every image, such as photographer, location and caption, and zoom To change from a distant view to a more close-up view (zoom in) and vice versa (zoom out). Corbis also announced a pilot program for Corbis View that tests advanced features such as full search capabilities.
