Corbis Hires Industry Leaders to Manage the Development of the Corbis Brand; George Sinclair, Former Getty Images Executive, Joins Corbis' Senior Management Team.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 1999--

Corbis(R), the leading provider of digital photography and fine art on the Internet (www.corbis.com), today announced the appointment of two industry leaders, George Sinclair George Sinclair refers to:
  • Sir George Evelyn Sinclair - a British Member of Parliament for Dorking
  • Sir George Sinclair, 2nd Baronet - a British Member of Parliament for Caithness
  • George Sinclair - the given name of several Earls of Caithness
 and Marjorie Yap, to its senior management team.

George Sinclair, former vice president for Getty Images, has been hired as director of strategic development for Corbis Images, Corbis' image-licensing division; and Marjorie Yap has assumed the position of director of corporate communications Corporate communications is the process of facilitating information and knowledge exchanges with internal and key external groups and individuals that have a direct relationship with an enterprise. . As Corbis aggressively expands its role as the worldwide leader in bringing high-quality digital images to all audiences via the Internet, Sinclair and Yap will help manage Corbis' integrated brand strategy.

Sinclair received his EMBA from Rutgers University and his BA from Columbia University.

Yap joins Corbis from Tektronix, where she managed the worldwide communications strategy. She has more than fifteen years of high-tech public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most  experience, and has worked extensively in the international market through the management of her own Portland-based agency, Communication Focus. Yap received her BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon.
