Corbis Donates $15,000 to Human Rights Organization WITNESS; Donation to Support Documentation of Worldwide Human Rights Abuses on Video.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 2001

Corbis(R) (www.corbis.com), the world's leading provider of photography and fine art, today presented $15,000 to human rights organization WITNESS, whose mission is to support the documentation of human rights abuses around the world. Leslie Hughes, Corbis President, Markets and Products Group, presented the check to WITNESS.

"We are pleased to make this meaningful donation," said Hughes. "It represents our overall efforts to support human rights organizations that are using photography and technology to share their messages."

The donation was presented at Corbis' New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 headquarters and was received on behalf of WITNESS by Sam Gregory, Witness Program Coordinator.

"Corbis' donation will help provide human rights groups worldwide with the video equipment, training and strategic support they need to use video technology as a new tool to fight human rights violations," said Gillian Caldwell, Executive Director of WITNESS. "This is important because it is through these images that WITNESS partners around the world can capture the eyes of the international community, and inspire those who see to act."

WITNESS was co-founded by artist Peter Gabriel Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950, in Chobham,[1] Surrey, England) is an English musician. He first came to fame as the lead vocalist and flautist of the progressive rock group Genesis. After leaving Genesis, Gabriel went on to a successful solo career.  and works with over 150 partner groups from 50 countries to use video film to overcome political, economic and physical barriers and to expose human rights abuses to the world via television, grassroots advocacy and Internet broadcasting Internet Broadcasting (formerly Internet Broadcasting Systems), or IBS, is a provider of television station web sites. IBS hosts over 70 local stations' sites, and co-produced NBCOlympics. .
