Corbis Appoints Marcel Saba Vice President of Editorial Photography Worldwide; Francois Hebel Promoted to VP of Editorial Photography for Europe.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 5, 2001

Corbis(R) announced today the appointment of Marcel Saba as vice president of editorial photography worldwide.

The move signals the company's continuing efforts to better serve the editorial photography market and to improve relations with editorial photographers. In a related move, Corbis also named Francois Hebel as vice president of editorial photography for Europe.

Reporting to Leslie Hughes, president of the company's newly formed Markets and Products Group, Saba will implement a cohesive strategy for the development of all editorial photography at Corbis, including news, events and celebrity portraiture. With divisions like Corbis Saba, Corbis Outline and Corbis Sygma in various stages of integration, Saba will rely heavily upon division heads Jody Potter, Jim Roehrig, Francois Hebel and Charlie Borst for leadership, counsel and support. Saba will also continue to run Corbis Saba, the division formed when Corbis acquired his agency last year.

Francois Hebel, formerly the director of editorial photography for Europe, has been promoted to vice president. Prior to joining Corbis, he worked as director of Magnum Photos France, and adjunct general manager of Magnum Photos Group. He has also served as director of the FNAC Stores PhotoGaleries in France and Belgium and as director of the Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie. Hebel is the co-author of a number of photographic books and serves as vice president of the Federation Francaise des Agences de Presse. Since joining Corbis, Hebel has been instrumental in the company's efforts to resolve contract issues with Sygma photographers in France. Reporting to Saba in his new role, Hebel will continue to drive European photographer relations, as well as overseeing the production of editorial photography in Europe.
