Corbis Announces New Version of Its Travel Web Site, Trip.


BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1997--

- New Robust Features Allow Consumers to Access Corbis Collection

For the First Time Directly From Their Desktop -

Corbis Corporation, a leading worldwide provider of visual content and services, today announced a new version of Trip, Corbis' premier Active Channel content for Microsoft Internet Explorer See Internet Explorer.  4.0.

Since its initial beta introduction on July 15, 1997, Corbis has enhanced its Active Desktop component to provide consumers with a direct link to the Corbis Collection and will include expanded functionality and content as the site evolves. Corbis has also added a collection of over 3,600 images from 100 locations around the world, searchable through intuitive maps and categories. To better meet the needs of its customers, Trip will also include interactive member benefits such as electronic postcards, downloadable wallpaper and screen savers Screen Savers may refer to:
  • Screensavers, computer programs intended to preserve CRT monitors from "burn-in".
  • The Screen Savers, a technology-oriented television program that aired on TechTV and later G4.
