CorVu's Balanced Scorecard provides a collaborative environment for managers and employees to exchange comments and feedback within the scorecard. This dynamic feature facilitates communication of strategic vision and initiatives from the boardroom throughout all levels of the organization. Executive and middle management are able to receive feedback from the entire organization, make more informed business decisions and better understand performance results and strategy.

Qualitative Measurement

CorVu's Balanced Scorecard application gives users the ability to include both qualitative and quantitative measures on a scorecard. The new release incorporates the quantitative measures by querying the underlying database. Qualitative measures, often subjective assessments, also can be included by utilizing CorVu's new data entry facility. Through a simple method of scoring, CorVu seamlessly integrates both types of measures into a single scorecard. "Managers have the ability to perform more accurate measurements and achieve a better overall assessment of the organization," said Alan Missroon, Vice President of Marketing at CorVu Corporation.

Direct Input of Performance Results

Performance related data may come from a variety of sources - internal applications and databases, and external information services See Information Systems. . CorVu's ability to query and import such data automatically has always been a unique strength. Additionally, organizations will have the option of entering performance results directly into the scorecard, without a live connection to the database. This added flexibility empowers users to easily integrate any performance data on their scorecards.

Object Oriented Design Object oriented design is part of OO methodology and it forces programmers to think in terms of objects, rather than procedures, when they plan their code. An object contains encapsulated data and procedures grouped together to represent an entity.

A breakthrough in scorecard automation, CorVu's object oriented design enables organizations to simply create a library of metrics metrics Managed care A popular term for standards by which the quality of a product, service, or outcome of a particular form of Pt management is evaluated. See TQM.   from which scorecards are later assembled. Metrics are simply created once for use on any scorecard throughout the organization. Performance targets are then assigned at the scorecard level, enabling departmental managers to reflect their specific goals. Any given metric may reused on a number of scorecards.
