Copyright Clearance Center offers publishers online licensing.


The Copyright Clearance Center (Danvers, MA), a licenser of text reproduction rights, has launched Rightslink Permissions, a new service that allows online content providers to license reuse reuse - Using code developed for one application program in another application. Traditionally achieved using program libraries. Object-oriented programming offers reusability of code via its techniques of inheritance and genericity. Class libraries with intelligent browsers and application generators are under development to help in this process. Polymorphic functional languages also support reusability while retaining the benefits of strong typing. of their copyrighted content directly from their Web sites.

The service lets publishers license the reuse of their content in a variety of formats, including email, Internet postings or republication in a book or magazine. To receive permission to reuse content, end-users link to CCC to complete the application. The new service handles the e-commerce deal, including billing, account management and distribution of royalties. Users can pay online or be invoiced.

CCC said that VNU eMedia and The Christian Science Christian Science, religion founded upon principles of divine healing and laws expressed in the acts and sayings of Jesus, as discovered and set forth by Mary Baker Eddy and practiced by the Church of Christ, Scientist. The church teaches that God is good and the only reality, and that sin, evil, and illness are overcome on the basis of this understanding. Adherents rely on spiritual, rather than medical or material, means for healing. Monitor have selected the service as their digital rights management system.
