Copyright Clearance Center Announces Retirement of Bob Weiner; Names A. Miles McNamee Vice President, Licensing and Business Development.

DANVERS, Mass. -- Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the world's largest provider of copyright licensing solutions, has named Miles McNamee as Vice President of Licensing and Business Development. McNamee will succeed Bob Weiner, Senior Vice President, Licensing & Rightsholder Relations, who will retire at the end of CCC's current fiscal year on June 30, 2009.

Weiner joined the company in 1991 and, during his 18 year tenure as head of Licensing, the company has distributed more than $1 billion (USD) in royalties to the rightsholders whom it represents. For the past five years, Weiner has also managed the company's Rightsholder Relations organization with an eye toward aiding rightsholders' transition into the digital age. His insight into the direction of the market has led to several significant CCC developments: In 1995, Weiner led the launch of a corporate license for small to mid-sized companies; in 1999, he spearheaded the creation of the corporate digital license, a first-of-its-kind license to cover the growing needs of customers for electronic rights; and, in 2004, launched a multinational license to serve CCC's global customers. These initiatives have enabled CCC to tailor offerings to the enterprise market and significantly expand its customer base.

McNamee, who joined CCC in 2008 as Vice President of Business Development, brings more than 20 years' experience in business development, sales and marketing. In his new role, McNamee will oversee CCC's business development efforts and the licensing of all of its products and services, which are currently in use by more than 35,000 licensees and global subsidiaries. McNamee will work both directly and with partners to increase CCC's penetration into mid-sized enterprises and among top global companies. He will drive collaboration with new and existing rightsholders to create licensing solutions that better monetize emerging multimedia and online publishing initiatives, and foster strong relationships with organizations around the world to increase respect for intellectual property.

Prior to joining CCC, McNamee spent 11 years working in a variety of leadership positions in sales and business development, most recently as the Senior Vice President of Affiliate Marketing of Starz Entertainment Group, the largest provider of premium movie services in the United States. McNamee also has experience working with leading companies such as Microware Systems Corp., TCI, Continental Cablevision and Showtime Networks in sales and marketing capacities.
