Copyright Clearance Center's Sue Kesner Elected President of The Society for Scholarly Publishing.

), has been elected president of SSP for the 2007-08 term.

Founded in 1978, SSP's mission is to advance scholarly publishing and communication and the professional development of its members through education, collaboration and networking.

Long active in the information and content management industries, Kesner is a librarian by training. She earned her M.S.L.S. from Wayne State University Wayne State University, at Detroit, Mich.; state supported; coeducational; established 1956 as a successor to Wayne Univ. (formed 1934 by a merger of five city colleges).  and worked in libraries at the University of London For most practical purposes, ranging from admission of students to negotiating funding from the government, the 19 constituent colleges are treated as individual universities. Within the university federation they are known as Recognised Bodies  and Stanford University Stanford University, at Stanford, Calif.; coeducational; chartered 1885, opened 1891 as Leland Stanford Junior Univ. (still the legal name). The original campus was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. David Starr Jordan was its first president. . She also held senior management positions at SilverPlatter and at Infotrieve before joining CCC in 2004.

Kesner currently serves as co-chair of SSP's Annual Meeting Committee and previously served as Chair of the Organizational Membership Committee.
