Cops probe Rhyl death.

Owen Edward Hughes (born: 1848 - died: 1932) was a former territorial level politician and Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly from 1885 until 1888.
 

POLICE launched an investigation after an 87-year-old woman was found dead at her home.

Detectives started enquiries into the death of the pensioner PENSIONER. One who is supported by an allowance at the will of another. It is more usually applied to him who receives an annuity or pension from the government. , after officers found her at her address on Epworth Road, Rhyl.

Yesterday afternoon a post mortem [Latin, After death.] Pertaining to matters occurring after death. A term generally applied to an autopsy or examination of a corpse in order to ascertain the cause of death or to the inquisition for that purpose by the Coroner .  was carried out at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan by a Home Office pathologist.

It emerged the unnamed woman died of natural causes, and police said they were not treating her death as suspicious.

Earlier, a police spokeswoman said: "At approximately 10.30am on Thursday officers attended an address in Epworth Road.

"Detectives are conducting enquiries into the circumstances of the unexplained death."

A neighbour said: "This has left everyone shocked, it makes you feel uneasy. This is usually a very quiet road so it's shocking to have anything like this. The lady was very nice, she would always say hello and people in the road would look out for her. She was elderly but would still visit shops. "We don't know what has happened to her."
