Cops call in bomb squad.


A POLICE station was evacuated after a member of the public handed in what was thought to be a World War II shell.

Officers based at Mortimer Street, in Birkenhead, were told to leave the building at 5.50pm on Sunday while a Ministry of Defence bomb disposal team investigated.

A house clearance team working at the home of a man in his 90s found a signal flare Signal Flare is the name of several fictional characters in the various Transformers universes. Transformers: Energon

 which was mistaken for a shell.
