CopperGate Communications adds Chief Technical Officer to its Senior Management Team.

Rami Verbin Joins Leader in Home Networking Integrated Circuits

TEL AVIV, Israel & NEWARK, Calif. -- CopperGate Communications, a leading provider of home networking technology for triple play IPTV and MDU access over existing wiring, today announced that Rami Verbin has joined the company as its Chief Technical Officer. Verbin brings more than 23 years of experience in the broadband networking and telecommunications industries and will set CopperGate's future technology direction and lead standards initiatives for the rapidly growing fabless semiconductor company.

Verbin joins CopperGate from Tracespan Communications, a leading manufacturer of broadband monitoring solutions, where he served as VP responsible for all R&D activity in the company. Prior to that, Verbin held various research, development, program management and strategic marketing positions at Orckit Communications, Tioga Technologies, a pioneer in DSL IC development acquired by STMicroelectronics in 2002, and later with STMicroelectronics' broadband access and set-top box divisions.

Verbin has been an active contributor to the evolution of the ADSL and VDSL standards from their very early days and has over 10 patents in various communications technologies. He holds both an MSc. in Electronics Engineering, signal processing and an MBA from Tel-Aviv University.
