CopperGate Communications Expands North American Operations; Announces New Promotions.

TEL AVIV, Israel & NEWARK, Calif. -- Today at the TelcoTV Conference and Expo, CopperGate Communications, the leading provider of standards-based technology for networking high-speed entertainment data throughout the home over existing wires, announced the expansion of its North American operations and that it has promoted two of its executives.

"As our design wins with leading set top box and residential gateway manufacturers begin to ship in high volume, it is critical that we have the infrastructure and senior management in place to support our growth," said Gabi Hilevitz, CopperGate CEO. "This is a critical phase in CopperGate's growth as our North American telcos launch major deployments of new IPTV technology and services that rely on HomePNA 3 technology for in-home distribution."

CopperGate announced that it has expanded its Newark, CA offices to include additional field support and executive offices. This development, following the July announcement that CopperGate opened a branch office in Taiwan, represents another phase in CopperGate's expansion plans to better serve the rapidly growing interest in its CopperStream chipset solution.

CopperGate's co-founder, David Baum, formerly Director of Communications Technologies, has relocated to the U.S. and has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development for North America. Nadav Katsir, formerly Director of Sales and Technical Support, has been promoted to Vice President of Sales for North America.
