CopperCommander(TM) is the most comprehensive provisioning and management platform for Voice over DSL in the market today and enables Service Convergence, Creation, Assurance, Auditing, and Integration.

"In order to effectively compete in the service provider arena, carriers must move to new technologies such as Voice over DSL because it offers dramatic efficiencies in operations, thus enabling enormous cost savings," said Thomas Flake flake

The CopperCommander SMP is a network management software application that resides on a UNIX server A medium to large-scale computer system in a network that runs under Unix. -- Service Convergence is the inevitable migration of voice and data
network services to a common network technology and OSS.
CopperCommander integrates with today's voice and data network
management platforms while providing an architecture that adapts
to the coming changes in management being brought about by the
convergence of voice and data services. CopperCommander extends
beyond the capabilities of a traditional Element Management
System (EMS) and provides the carrier with extended Northbound
and Southbound capabilities to ease the migration towards truly
integrated voice and data offerings and management.

-- Service Creation is the initial key to success for rolling out
Voice over DSL. Carriers need to be able to turn up large numbers
of voice and data circuits to meet the coming demand enabled by
this revolutionary technology. CopperCommander's VoDSL EOC
enables integrated flow-through provisioning for complete
automated management of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE)
connected to the Gateway in GR-303 or TR-008 networks. End users
can simply plug CopperComplete DSL compatible CPE into an active
DSL line; all provisioning information is learned automatically
by communicating with the Gateway. The VoDSL EOC expands the
reach of the Class 5 switch and the Gateway with a
standards-based AAL2 management channel between the Gateway and
     the CPE.

-- Service Assurance gives the network operator the ability to
monitor network resources such as SLAs and to trend network
performance over time. Deployed through a collection of smart
agents in the Gateway and CPE devices, CopperCommander alerts the
operator to important events through extensive reporting as well
as email, fax, and pager notifications. Threshold crossing alarms
for facilities utilization can be set to notify operators just in
time, so that network upgrades keep step with service rollout,
     minimizing on-hand stock requirements.

-- Service Auditing allows carriers to reconcile billing information
between the Class 5 switch and the CopperCom Gateway. Service
auditing is important for Voice over DSL deployments where the
Gateway and the Class 5 switch are operated by two different
     carriers.

-- Service Integration facilitates deployment of CopperComplete DSL
and CopperCommander into legacy and new networks alike. New
carriers can leverage CopperCommander's enhanced capabilities as
an all in one OSS/EMS platform for Voice over DSL. Established
carriers can plug CopperCommander into the existing network
seamlessly for rapid Voice over DSL service deployment.
CopperCommander is OSS ready for today's network, featuring an
open mediation layer consisting of APIs and a wide range of
Northbound protocol support including TL1, CORBA, SNMP, and CMIP.
Proprietary interfaces can be supported for specific carrier
     needs.
