Copa Nissan Sudamericana Returns Exclusively to Fox Sports En Espanol Today; Mexico's Club America and Pumas de la UNAM, as well as USA's DC United, to Make First-Ever Appearance in Prestigious Tournament.


LOS ANGELES -- Fox Sports en Espanol announced today the return of the Copa Nissan Sudamericana to its Fall line-up of exclusive live soccer action. Tournament play kicks-off on Fox Sports en Espanol tonight, August 9, with a first-round encounter between Paraguayan selections Guarani gua·ra·ni

CONCACAF Confederacion Norte, Centroamericana y del Caribe de Futbol Asociacion (Spanish) 
 member teams from Mexico (Club America and Pumas de la UNAM) and the United States (DC United) will take part in the five-month tournament.

A CONMEBOL-sanctioned tournament, the 2005 Copa Nissan Sudamericana features 34 teams from 12 countries, including 31 teams from CONMEBOL CONMEBOL Confederacion Sudamericana de Futbol  member countries and 3 from CONCACAF, including Brazil (8); Argentina (7); Mexico (2); Bolivia (2); Chile (2); Colombia (2); Ecuador (2); Peru (2); Paraguay (2); Uruguay (2); Venezuela (2); and United States (1).

Offering more than 1,500 hours of live sports programming a year, Fox Sports en Espanol is the only Spanish-language network to offer exclusive coverage of the four major international club tournaments from Latin America, encompassing more than 125 matches and in excess of 500 hours of live coverage of the most important matches from the Torneo InterLiga, Copa Toyota Libertadores, CONCACAF Copa de Campeones, and the Copa Nissan Sudamericana.
