Cop to be electoral office No2; APPOINTMENT.


A RETIRING police superintendent will be the new assistant chief electoral Officer, it was announced yesterday.

Graham Shields, currently district commander in the Co Down, will take up his new position in January January: see month. .

He replaces June Butler who left the Electoral Office and the end of last month.

Chief electoral officer Douglas Bain n. 1. A bath; a bagnio.  said Mr Shields would be responsible for the smooth running of the next year's General Election as well as performing a number of key roles in electoral HQ.

He added: "The assistant chief electoral officer plays a key role in the delivery of free and fair elections and the management of the Electoral Office. We're delighted to secure someone of Graham's calibre calibre
