" Jones had accumulated three holes-in-one during 50-some years of playing the game, but nothing quite like last week.

He had a pair of aces, in consecutive rounds in the span of four days at Coos Coos (kō`ŏs), in the New Testament, island in the Aegean Sea, the present-day Kós.  Country Club.

Last Wednesday, playing the 138-yard No. 6 hole, Jones hit a 9 iron within five or six feet of the pin, and ball rolled into the hole like a putt.

Saturday, playing the 165-yard No. 16 hole, the signature hole at Coos Country Club, Jones hit a 6 iron to the back of the green and watched it trickle back into the hole.

Both shots required carries over water, and were Jones' first holes-in-one since he had his left knee replaced in January. (Jones, who spends summers in Coos Bay Coos Bay (ks), city (1990 pop. 15,076), Coos co., SW Oreg., a port of entry on Coos Bay; founded 1854 as Marshfield, inc. 1874, renamed 1944.  and winters at The Palms in La Quinta A division of Seagate that was originally an acquisition and then absorbed into the company by 1999. In both rounds, Jones said, he was playing with Dr. William King William King may be:

. "I told him I'd hire him and go out on the Seniors Tour," Jones said.
