Coors stock upgraded; brewer "gaining traction".

Morgan Stanley last week raised its rating on Adolph Coors Co. to "overweight" from "equal weight," saying Coors is "gaining traction" in the U.S. market. Volume growth has accelerated in the past few weeks and an October price increase is sticking, analyst William Pecoriello said in a research note. "Volume growth has "Yahoo" bandits take beer accelerated in the past few weeks into early October," Pecoriello wrote. "The October price increase is sticking."

Banc of America Securities also upgraded the stock, to "buy" from "market performer," saying the company's marketing for Coors light has improved, while malternatives have started to fade.
