This year's event, presented by the Indiana Black Expo Indiana Black Expo is a non for-profit organization headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana that is responsible for overseeing the state's two largest cultural events: the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration, and the Coca-Cola Circle City Classic.  (IBE), Inc., and the Indiana Sports Corporation, takes place Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8, in downtown Indianapolis.

Each year, the whirlwind sequence of scholastic, cultural and athletic activities celebrates academic excellence and showcases the tradition of America's historically black colleges and universities Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) are institutions of higher education in the United States that were established before 1964 with the intention of serving the African American community. They are often liberal arts colleges or universities.  (HBCUs). The event draws more than 175,000 people to the city and generates up to $100,000 in scholarship funds. Coors has helped sponsor this historic event for 16 years.

"It's a great way to show our support of America's HBCUs and community partners such as the Indiana Black Expo."

The Coca-Cola Circle City Classic, a keystone event of the weekend, is one of the top black college football classics This is a list of black college football classics which take place between historically black colleges and universities which compete in college football in the United States.  in America. In this year's game, the Central State University (CSU) Marauders, from Wilberforce, OH, take on the Hampton University Pirates from Hampton, VA, in a gridiron match-up that kicks off at 4:00 p.m. CDT at the RCA Dome. Another battle will take place at half-time between the CSU Invincible Marching Marauders and the HU Marching Force, two of the nation's top marching bands.
