Coors' Killian's Irish Red now available in 12-oz. cans

Coors Brewing brewing: see beer.  Co. announced the introduction of George Killian's Irish Red in 12-oz. cans, making it the first red lager to be distributed nationally in cans.

 bottles," said George Mansfield, brand manager, Coors Brewing Co. "This new package of 12-oz. six-pack cans is unique for a red lager and offers the consumer a convenient choice for the summer months."

Killian's in cans will be available June 25 through the Labor Day Labor Day, holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada on the first Monday in September to honor the laborer. It was inaugurated by the Knights of Labor in 1882 and made a national holiday by the U.S. Congress in 1894.  holiday in early September. With this introduction, the brand is targeting seasonal on-premise accounts where glass is not allowed as well as the strong summer off-premise business. Current plans are to make this new package available on an annual basis during the summer-time months.

"With Killian's Red now available in cans, we hope to continue attracting new consumers and maintain loyalty among current consumers," Mansfield said.

The Killian's Red can will be available to wholesalers in all 50 states with the exception of Delaware, Hawaii, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania Oklahoma is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 915 at the 2000 census. Geography
