The Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation's Little Rock headquarters expansion has entered a new phase.

AECC, wholesale power supplier for 16 distribution cooperatives in the state, is now dodging carpenters and electricians as the 30-year-old part of the building, located at 8800 Scott Hamilton Drive, undergoes remodeling.

Just about everything's being ripped up and out to make way for new wiring, heating and air conditioning systems, office walls and carpet. Also included in the renovation: handicapped access.

The $3 million-plus project is scheduled for completion in September 2001.
