) today announced its Board of Directors has approved the appointment of two new Director nominees, Lawrence D. Kingsley and Dr. Mark S. Thompson. The Director nominees are subject to election at Cooper's Annual Meeting of Shareholders on April 24. Successful election would increase the size of the Board from 9 to 11 and add leadership from current industry executives focused on advanced technology and operational excellence.

Prior to joining Fairchild in December 2004, Dr. Thompson was President and Chief Executive Officer of Big Bear Networks, Inc. since August 2001 and before that, Vice President and General Manager of Tyco Electronics Power Components Division. He also serves as a Director for American Science and Engineering, Inc. and Fairchild Semiconductor International, Inc.
