) today announced the completion of their purchase of the business of Dean Tire & Rubber Company, a Louisville, Kentucky-based tire distributor. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Cooper acquired ownership of the Dean brand and will service the Dean distributors and dealers directly from the Findlay, Ohio Findlay is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Hancock CountyGR6. The municipality is located in northwestern Ohio approximately 50 miles (80 km) south of Toledo. The population was 38,967 at the 2000 census.  office. John Fitzgerald, former Dean vice president of marketing, will head the new Dean division from an office in Louisville, Kentucky

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company, founded in 1914, is the world's eighth largest tire manufacturer, specializing in the manufacturing and marketing of rubber products for consumers. Products include automobile, truck and motorcycle motorcycle, motor vehicle whose design is based on the bicycle. The German inventor Gottlieb Daimler is generally credited with building the first practical motorcycle in 1885. The motorcycle did not become dependable and popular, however, until after 1900.  tires; inner tubes; vibration control systems; automotive sealing; hose and hose assemblies.
