) today announced that its subsidiary, Cooper Controls (U.K.) Limited, made a binding offer for all outstanding shares of Polaron plc, a publicly traded company publicly traded company

A company whose shares of common stock are held by the public and are available for purchase by investors. The shares of publicly traded firms are bought and sold on the organized exchanges or in the over-the-counter market.

Polaron is a leading manufacturer of intelligent lighting control solutions predominantly in the non-residential construction market. For the year ended June 30, 2006, Polaron reported consolidated revenues of PS23.7 million. The offer has been unanimously recommended by the Polaron Board of Directors and is currently being reviewed by Polaron's shareholders.
