Cook's Pots & Tabletops, the cookware store at 2807 Oak St. in the Southtowne Shoppes, begins taking registrations today for cooking classes scheduled through April. One example: On Feb. 25, John Sarich, cookbook author and culinary director of Chateau Ste. Michelle winery, will oversee a wine tasting and prepare a mushroom risotto, a mixed marinade of skewers (vegetables, chicken, sausage and seafood), and a tarte tatin for dessert. The cost is $50. Bertolli Olive Oil is seeking nominations for its second annual Bertolli Sous Chefs Awards. Sous chefs are the assistant chefs whose efforts often go unrecognized. Sous chefs may be nominated by their executive chef or manager, or they may nominate themselves.
