Cookery club wins pounds 1,000; NEWSBRIEF.THE Great Tastes Cooking Club has won the runner-up prize in the Food Standards Agency The Food Standards Agency is a non-ministerial government department of the Government of the United Kingdom. It is responsible for protecting public health in relation to food throughout the United Kingdom and is led by an appointed board that is intended to act in the public Wales' 2009 Awards for Food Action Locally scheme. The cooking club won the award for teaching how people can eat their "five a day" and helping members prepare a variety of healthy family meals and snacks for the whole family to eat. The award of pounds 1,000 and a celebratory handmade wooden plate was presented to Lynne Andrews, a cooking tutor from the Workers Educational Association at the Salvation Army Salvation Army, Protestant denomination and international nonsectarian Christian organization for evangelical and philanthropic work.
