The stated mission of the foundation is "To help young people of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education. , an educational foundation that offers some of the largest available scholarships to students in the arts.

 young musicians the Jack Kent Cooke Jack Kent Cooke (25 October, 1912 – 6 April, 1997) was a Canadian-American entrepreneur who became one of the most widely-known executives in North American professional sports.  Young Artist Awards in support of furthering their musical careers.

The 25 Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Awards winners will perform on a live taping of From the Top's radio program, and receive a $10,000 scholarship to assist with music-related training and cultural leadership training to help young musicians become community arts advocates.

Applicants must be classical musicians ages 8-18 with high levels of artistic achievement, a solid academic record and in financial need.
