Convergys Expands Operations in St. Louis and Adds New Jobs.

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 1998--Convergys Corporation, the global leader in providing outsourced, integrated, customer care and billing services, announces an expansion in the St. Louis metropolitan area with a new facility in North county. The new facility is scheduled to open in December. After the relocation of one of its existing call centers in Creve Coeur to this facility, Convergys also plans to add approximately 440 workstations and nearly 1,000 new jobs.

Convergys already employs about 1,350 people in the St. Louis metropolitan area. It is anticipated that the new hires as a result of today's announcement will bring that total to more than 2,300. The majority of the new jobs created will be for customer service representatives and Convergys is already taking applications for positions. Convergys will move into a former shopping center complex in Hazelwood with economic development incentives and support from the State of Missouri, the St. Louis County Economic Council, the City of Hazelwood, the Regional Commerce and Growth Association (RCGA), the St. Louis Community College District, the Hazelwood School District, and Bi-State Transit.
