Convergys Corporation, the global leader in integrated billing and customer care services, announced today the immediate availability of Atlys(SM) Release 6.0 which provides substantial new functionality to enable global wireless carriers to offer a wide new array of data services and customer care capabilities, and support emerging m-commerce needs.

Convergys' Atlys solution -- already chosen by many of the world's leading wireless carriers to provide end-to-end billing and customer care because of its high scalability, real-time functionality, modular design, and flexible delivery models -- will now offer enhanced functionality to support wireless data, wireless IP services, and transactional m-commerce services for global wireless carriers. Release 6.0 features include GPRS (general packet radio service) support, IP-enablement for billing Internet services including an IP mediation and provisioning gateway, event-based rating, global roaming (TAP3), "pre-call" prepaid support, enhanced web-based self-care, and internationalization enhancements.

Atlys will also support leading-edge m-commerce (mobile) services over 3G broadband wireless networks. It enables many emerging IP-based services as well as both wireless voice and data on one platform in real-time. Atlys will help carriers expand into new data services via GPRS, while its flexible, event-based rating capabilities speed time-to-market for these new services. It will also enable carriers to improve the level of customer service with its enhanced Web-based self-care functionality and at a lower cost.

Atlys Release 6.0 also integrates the third version of transfer accounts procedure (TAP3) functionality, including inter-carrier settlement, which supports standardized roaming for GSM carriers. Along with supporting multiple languages and currencies, the solution will now support rate plans in both "pre-call" prepaid and postpaid modes.
