Convergys Customers ISH and BT Win Billing Awards in Paris; German Cable Company ISH GmBH Receives Award for The Most Outstanding Billing Implementation.

British Telecom Executive Named Billing Executive of the Year

Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG), the global leader in billing and customer care services, is pleased to announce that two of its customers have received Billing Magazine Globe Awards. The awards were presented at PBI Media's Billing and CRM 2001 conference in Paris on November 20. ISH GmbH (ISH), formerly Kabel Nordrhein-Westfalen (KNRW), won the award for Most Outstanding Billing Implementation. British Telecom's (BT) David Graystone was unanimously voted Billing Executive of the Year by the panel of judges.

ISH, Germany's largest cable operator, has just completed a major migration project to Convergys' convergent broadband voice, video, and data billing solution that provides order management, workforce management, usage rating, inventory and payment processing functionality. The company, which is part of the Callahan group, acquired the cable network from Deutsche Telekom in July 2000. It is the first of the regional German cable companies to have its new-generation IT platform in operation. The new solution allows ISH to deploy an increasing variety of new services that broadband cable networks are making possible including the "triple play" market of interactive TV, high-speed Internet, and IP-based telephony.

ISH and Convergys successfully migrated ISH's more than 2.8 million cable subscribers to the Convergys solution. All customer records, complex commercial contracts, and pricing schemes inherited with the customer base have been transferred to the new solution. This large and complex migration was achieved in 8 months, considerably ahead of schedule. ISH is therefore now well positioned to lead the "triple play" market in Germany. Janos Sivo, Vice President Information Systems, accepted the prize for the Most Outstanding Billing Implementation on behalf of ISH.

David Graystone was unanimously elected this year's Billing Executive of the Year by the judges in Paris. David is Manager, Billing Development, at BT and has responsibility for rationalising and reorganising the complex legacy billing environment in BT. His remit is to leverage expertise and investment in order to support BT's long-term vision and to streamline billing operations. David has identified ways for the company to standardise billing software across a range of new services. BT is now using Convergys' Geneva (TM) software to bill for a variety of services, including DSL, ADSL, IMS, and business point-to-point services.
