Convergys Corporation Breaks Ground for Expansion-Consolidation in Central Florida.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 1998--Convergys Corporation (NYSE:CVG) today broke ground for phase two of its Office/Data Center Complex to be located in the suburban Orlando city of Lake Mary.

The estimated value of the project is $30 million with Seminole County commissioners and the State providing a $1.1 million economic incentive. Convergys has pledged to create 175 additional jobs at the complex over the next five years.

The existing campus atmosphere of the complex will be enhanced by construction of a 3-story, 171,000-sq.-ft. office building, which will meet current needs and have space for expansion. Work on the new facility is already underway and should be completed in about 12 months. The site already contains a 125,000-sq.-ft. office building and a 60,000-sq.-ft. state-of-the-art data center occupied by Convergys Information Management Group. More than 550 employees currently work in these facilities.

While Convergys Information Management Group will utilize the new building for expansion, the Convergys Customer Management Group will consolidate its three Orlando area service centers into the complex. It currently has approximately 200 employees in Sanford, 200 in Maitland, and 700 in Lake Mary.
