Convergys Announces Functional Enhancements & New Customer Win for its Real-Time Convergent Charging Solution.


CINCINNATI & WAYNESBORO, Va. -- Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, announced today enhancements to its Real-Time Convergent Charging Solution to improve scalability, reliability, and speed-to-market for communications service providers in their delivery of real-time services to their subscribers.

Convergys' Real-Time Convergent Charging Solution is currently deployed in a number of service providers throughout the world - enabling next-generation voice, data, and content services to be merchandised to millions of subscribers, regardless of payment type or contract status, all within a single database. The enhanced solution delivers pre-integrated network control capability, supporting 3GPP standard network interfaces such as WIN, CAMEL, and DIAMETER. It offers pre-integrated payment processing and Self-Care capability to help reduce the cost of recharge and customer care. It also leverages performance improvements within Convergys Infinys [R] Rating and Billing Manager to significantly improve both application scalability and total cost of ownership.

Convergys also announced today it has signed a multi-year contract with the first client to benefit from the enhanced solution -- NTELOS (NASDAQ: NTLS), a leading regional provider of wireless and wireline communications services to consumers and businesses. Convergys will implement its Real-Time Convergent Charging Solution for NTELOS, providing real-time Intelligent Network call control, rating and charging, balance management, and customer care for NTELOS' prepaid customer base. In addition, Convergys will serve as a service bureau, providing platform hosting and management of the solution for NTELOS.
