Convergys Announces Billing & Subscriber Management; Contract With United States Satellite Broadcasting.

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1998--Convergys Corporation, the world leader in providing outsourced, integrated, customer care and billing services, announced today it has signed a contract with United States Satellite Broadcasting Company, Inc., a leading provider of satellite-delivered subscription-television programming.

Convergys will provide USSB with subscriber management and billing services for USSB's growing residential subscriber base that already exceeds two million. Under terms of the seven-year, outsourcing agreement, Convergys expects to realize revenues ranging to $180 million.

This contract with USSB is the third major agreement in which Convergys will utilize a version of the WIZARD billing and subscriber management software designed specifically for the Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) market based on a client/server, open systems platform. The WIZARD DBS solution is being jointly developed and marketed through an agreement announced last October with Wiztec Solutions Ltd., (Nasdaq:WIZTF), a company in which Convergys has a minority equity stake. Convergys is also supporting the satellite-delivered programming offered by Bell Atlantic and Ethnic American Broadcasting through multi-year, outsourced agreements.

The Convergys' WIZARD DBS solution addresses the industry's unique demands for billing and subscriber management to support the digital satellite technology that simultaneously broadcasts hundreds of channels and events to an ever-growing audience over an expansive area.
