Completes Senior Management Team at Company,

), a pan-regional facilities-based operator of broadband telecommunications networks in Latin America, announced today that it has named Douglas K. Jacobs as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. He replaces Lance D'Ambrosio, who remains Chairman of CCI.

Prior to joining Alcatel, Doug was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Before that, Doug served in various sales and executive positions with DSC (1) (Digital Signal Controller) A microcontroller and DSP combined on the same chip. It adds the interrupt-driven capabilities normally associated with a microcontroller to a DSP, which typically functions as a continuous process. Mr. Jacobs' telecommunications career began in 1967 with Western Electric, a division of AT&T. Mr. Jacobs spent 23 years with AT&T, rising to the position of AT&T Network Systems, Southwestern Region Vice President.

Mr. Read has over 19 years of telecom and IT experience.

Maritza Escalona, Chief Executive Officer, Convergence Communications Venezuela - Prior to joining CCI, Maritza served as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Tesam de Venezuela, a joint venture between Alcatel and France Telecom to operate Globalstar's Venezuelan operations. Ms. Escalona has over 15 years of telecom experience including CANTV CANTV Compañía Anónima Nacional Teléfonos de Venezuela , the incumbent telephone operator in Venezuela, and Telcel (a subsidiary of Bell South), the largest wireless communications provider in Venezuela.

Amaury Rivera, Vice President Strategic Sales and Marketing - Amaury joins CCI from Grupo Iusacell, the second largest wireless communications company in Mexico (a Bell Atlantic subsidiary), where he most recently served as Vice President of Marketing. Mr. Rivera has over 16 years of telecom experience.
