Convedia to Participate in Global MSF Interoperability 2004 Event; Company Will Provide Multi-Service IP Media Server Functionality across Global Test Sites.

VANCOUVER, B.C. -- Convedia(R) Corporation, the leading provider of IP media processing platforms, announced today that it will participate in the upcoming Global MSF Interoperability 2004 (GMI 2004), sponsored by the Multiservice Switching Forum (MSF). Planned for October 4-16, GMI 2004 will conduct interoperability testing simultaneously between four interconnected carrier labs located around the world: Qwest in North America, British Telecom (BT) in Europe, and Korea Telecom (KT) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) in Asia. Convedia's CMS-6000 Media Server, already installed at a BT lab facility in the United Kingdom, will be an integral component of the live interoperability testing, by delivering the media processing requirements for multiple VoIP applications provided by other GMI 2004 participants.

GMI 2004 is the MSF's global interoperability testing and verification event for an end-to-end deployable and operations-ready VoIP network with services, applications, network management, enhanced Quality of Service (QoS), and security features. All the test sites will be interconnected by live network facilities, creating a realistic test environment to examine the interoperability and deployment of multi-service next-generation networks on a global scale. GMI 2004 will test application servers, media servers, service brokers, call agents, bandwidth managers, and other control and management systems against the specific protocols defined in MSF Interoperability Agreement (IA) specifications.

During GMI 2004, Convedia's CMS-6000 Media Server will provide IP media processing capabilities for a variety of VoIP applications, including the Korea Telecom Application Server, the Leapstone CCE serviceBROKER, the Telcordia Open Services Platform, and the VocalData Application Server.
