Control Solutions establishes IIA Quality Assessment/Validation practice.


NASHUA N.H. -- Control Solutions International has established an IIA (1) (Information Industry Association, Washington, DC) In 1999, IIA merged with SPA (Software Publishers Association) to become the Software & Information Industry Association. Established in 1941, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is an international professional association of more than 128,000 members with global headquarters in
 (IIA).

In order for a company's audit function to use the statement "conducted in accordance with the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing," the function must establish a program for quality assurance and improvement that includes ongoing and periodic internal quality assessments (QAs) and an external QA at least once every five years.

These assessments evaluate the internal audit and audit committee charters, compliance with the Standards, the organization's risk and control assessment, and the use of best practices. External QAs can be performed by an objective outside party, or through independent outside validation of an internal self-assessment.
