With the announcement, Control Data joins leading directory providers such as IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. "Most Fortune 1000 companies rely on dozens and dozens of separate directories to store their email addresses, phone numbers, security credentials and device configurations," said David Folsom, vice president of Control Data's Enterprise Internet Solutions business. "The need for consistent interoperability amongst directory applications will become even more important as corporate computing environments become more complex. For this reason, Control Data is excited to join our industry colleagues to promote open directory development standards."
