Control Break International Launches New Release of SafeBoot with Support for Encryption During Hibernation Mode.

NAPLES, Fla. -- Control Break International, a leading developer of enterprise-wide security software, today announced the availability of Service Pack 2 for version 4.27 of SafeBoot(R), the company's flagship solution. This release provides rich new functionality including support for encryption during hibernation mode A power-down mode in a portable computer that provides a quicker resumption of operation than normal when turned back on. When hibernation mode is activated, all current applications running in memory are saved to disk, and the computer is turned off.  as well as the encryption of data stored during a "crash dump."

Based on customer requests, Control Break International saw the need to protect data during a PC's hibernation mode. Typically, data is vulnerable to hacking during hibernation as the contents of any open encrypted files and systems remain in the hibernation storage file in plaintext format.

The new Service Pack for SafeBoot version 4.27, eliminates this threat. While other security solution providers recommend that users disable To turn off; deactivate. See disabled.  hibernation mode entirely, Control Break International allows mobile device users to enjoy the convenience of hibernation mode without exposing open data files. With SafeBoot, all data remains encrypted even during hibernation mode. A user must enter a password, and optionally provide a secure token See authentication token. , to regain access to the data after hibernation.

SafeBoot provides the same security in the event of a crash dump; when a PC crashes, open files are typically vulnerable as they are saved unencrypted in a storage file which can be accessed by an administrator. With SafeBoot, data remains encrypted even when a machine crashes.

"SafeBoot has been a market leader in enterprise-wide mobile data security for the past eleven years and this release demonstrates the company's strong commitment to investing in research and development," said Gerhard Watzinger, Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
