These stories show the benefits of parks and recreation. The emphasis of the one-page column is on a visual representation of how the subject was improved; therefore, high-quality photos are a must. The column usually has just a couple of paragraphs of text to provide context for the images. Contact Scott Douglas with your ideas. Miscellaneous Features: Parks & Recreation publishes features that educate or inform park, recreation or tourism professionals as well as the educators and citizens that support them. This is where leadership shares its vision, short educational pieces that relate to branch or membership needs are published, and branches can acknowledge best practices. Articles run from 200 to 700 words. Send ideas directly to the branch liaisons, a listing of which can be found on p. 75. Regional Report: This is the monthly section to recognize specific members who have won awards or changed jobs.
