Hulera Joyma S.A. de C.V., which supplies solid industrial tires and caster wheels to OEMs and high volume end-users in Mexico through a network of dealers and distributors, will offer the product line of Industrial Tires Limited, a North American manufacturer of non-pneumatic tires. The plan includes introduction of state-of-the-art injection molded manufacture of ITL brand press-on solid tires in Mexico as soon as volumes justify.

Vorwerk & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG of Wuppertal, Germany, agreed to produce Industrial Tires Limited's Softuff high performance resilient tire at Vorwerk's 50,000 square foot manufacturing plant in Sri Lanka. Deliveries of the tire are expected to begin, on a worldwide basis, in April of 1993. Vorwerk manufactures technical elastomer products, solid tires and technical adhesive tapes.

Columbian Carbon Ltd. and Tiszai Vegyi Kombinat, a Hungarian chemicals producer, are forming a joint venture company to make carbon black in Hungary. Owned 60% by Columbian, the venture - Columbian Tiszai Carbon - is spending $55 million at a 50,000 metric tons per year carbon black plant in eastern Hungary. The Tiszaujvaros plant will make black for tires and other rubber goods, a news report said. When on-stream at the end of 1993, the plant will sell half of its annual production in Western Europe.

Goodyear will supply Wilson Sporting Goods with 100% of its performance tennis shoe outsole compounds in 1993. The agreement shows a marked increase in compounding supply across Wilson's entire line of performance tennis shoes. Previously Goodyear supplied Wilson with compounds for a number of shoe models. The companies will also offer cross promotions.

CIM-DOR Corp. of Barcelona, Spain, appointed MKB Industries to exclusively represent its line of continuous microwave curing systems in the United States and Canada. MKB is based in Branford, CT.

N.V. Bekaert S.A., based in Belgium, and Jiang Yin Steel Wire Rope Factory in the People's Republic of China, both producers of steel wire and related products, are forming a 50/50 joint venture company for the production of steel cord and hose reinforcement wire in China. Called China Bekaert Steel Cord Co. Ltd. (C.B.S.B.), located in Jiang Yin City, northwest of Shanghai, the venture is worth an investment of 1.8 billion BEF, including a new building and equipment. Production should begin in the spring of 1994. Jiang Yin is currently producing small quantities of tire cord and hose reinforcement, which will be transferred to the new plant. Bekaert will supply equipment to build up an initial capacity of 9,000 metric tons.
