Contractors Association of Greater New York.


Founded over 20 years ago, CAGNY is a multi-employer association of the leading construction managers and general contractors operating in the Metropolitan New York area.

CAGNY coordinates all its members' collective bargaining collective bargaining, in labor relations, procedure whereby an employer or employers agree to discuss the conditions of work by bargaining with representatives of the employees, usually a labor union. Its purpose may be either a discussion of the terms and conditions of employment (wages, work hours, job safety, or job security) or a consideration of the collective relations between both sides (the right to organize workers, recognition of a union, or a activities with the various craft locals whose members they employ; oversees the administration of those agreements; represents its members' interests as they are impacted by federal, State and local legislative initiatives and oversight by federal, State and City regulatory agencies; and serves as a liaison with other construction industry groups and associations.

The primary purpose of CAGNY is to negotiate collective bargaining agreements with its affiliated trade unions and to work with its unions to achieve efficiency and ensure safety on all of its members' projects.

CAGNY's core values can be summarized simply: Vision. Ethics. Value.

These values drive the members of CAGNY to remain at the forefront of the New York construction industry, providing leadership in the areas of legislative action, technology development, safety innovation, public service and philanthropy.
