Contract Awarded For Residential Soundproofing Near LAX.


LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 1999--

The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners today awarded a not-to-exceed $862,680 contract to F.H. Paschen/S.N. Nielsen Inc., Santa Fe Springs Santa Fe Springs, city (1990 pop. 15,520), Los Angeles co., SW Calif., inc. 1957. The contract covers sound insulation modifications on 31 units in 30 buildings located in the Los Angeles communities of Westchester and Playa del Rey.

Following the action, Los Angeles Sixth District Councilmember Ruth Galanter, in whose district the airport is located, commented, "I am happy that the neighbors continue to benefit from this program."

This contract award brings the total number of homes completed or in the process of soundproofing construction to 943. The residences are outfitted with dual-paned windows, solid-core doors, attic insulation, and other necessary soundproofing improvements.

A soundproofed model home at 419 Waterview Street in Playa del Rey is open to visitors Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. or by appointment.
