Continuous Computing Enhances Product Portfolio to Enable Convergence of VoIP and 3G Wireless Networks.BOSTON -- Trillium(R) Software Solutions Accelerate Adoption and Deployment of 3G - IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS (1) See IP Multimedia Subsystem. (2) (Information Management System) An early IBM hierarchical DBMS for IBM mainframes. IMS was widely implemented throughout the 1970s under MVS and continues to be used under z/OS. ) Continuous Computing(R) Corporation, global provider of high availability platform solutions for telecom equipment manufacturers to deploy converged communications, today announced significant enhancements to its Trillium(R) Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) product portfolio. The company is introducing the Trillium IP Bearer Control Protocol (IP-BCP) offering for seamless integration into networks using Bearer Independent Call Control (BICC BICC Bearer Independent Call Control BICC Business Intelligence Competency Center (SAS Consulting) BICC Beijing International Convention Center BICC Biomedical Information Communication Center ). Continuous Computing also announced product updates to Trillium SIP and Trillium GCP (H.248/MEGACO compliant) protocol stacks as well as roadmaps to address high availability and reliability for these products. With these enhancements Continuous Computing enables customers to deliver solutions that address the carrier-grade scalability needs of the VoIP and 3G Wireless network deployment. 3G Wireless technologies are gradually entering the commercial rollout phase and many carriers worldwide are adopting the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) architecture to take advantage of the easier service creation environment to deliver revenue-generating services in a packet-based infrastructure. To support this ongoing market evolution, Continuous Computing's Distributed Fault-Tolerance/High-Availability (DFT/HA) architecture -- successfully field-deployed with the Trillium SS7 and Trillium SIGTRAN (SIGnaling TRANsport) An IP telephony protocol from the IETF that is used to transfer SS7 signals over IP networks. The telco switch sends SS7 signals to a signaling gateway (SG) that converts them into SIGTRAN packets, which travel over IP to the next signaling gateway or signaling products -- is now being extended to the VoIP signaling products. These enhancements will enable global telecom manufacturers to rapidly build network elements such as Call State Control Functions (CSCF CSCF Call Session Control Function CSCF Canadian Ski Coaches Federation CSCF Centre Suisse de Cartographie de la Faune (Neuchâtel, Switzerland) CSCF Call State Control Function (3GPP) ), Wireless Media Gateways, SIP phones and servers, Softswitches, Multimedia Resource Control Functions (MRCF MRCF Medical Research and Compensation Foundation (Australia) MRCF Migrant and Refugee Communities Forum (UK) MRCF Microsoft Realtime Compression Format MRCF Molecular Research Core Facility ) and Bearer Interworking (standard) interworking - Systems or components, possibly from different origins, working together to perform some task. Interworking depends crucially on standards to define the interfaces between the components. Functions (BIWF BIWF British Israel World Federation BIWF Bearer Interworking Functions BIWF Bisexual White Female BIWF Bearer Inter Working Function ) for the decomposed IMS architecture. "Continuous Computing continues to deliver advanced, standards-based products with new next-generation protocol stacks and timely updates to its comprehensive Trillium protocol portfolio," said Neeraj Patel, Marketing Manager, Continuous Computing. "One of our core strengths is to identify new product requirements and to respond to new demands to enable our customers to deploy the most advanced solutions as VoIP and 3G Wireless networks rapidly evolve. We take pride in consistently providing interoperability-tested products that allow our customers to deploy quickly and derive maximum time-in-market advantages." Current Trillium SIP protocol stack updates include support for Transport Level Security (TLS), Signaling Compression (SIGCOMM SIGCOMM Special Interest Group on Data Communication (ACM) ), 3GPP defined drafts, RFCs for specific use of SIP in R5/R6 network architecture and the addition of the redundancy module based on Trillium DFT/HA architecture. The updated SIP stack provides superior performance, PROTOS compliance and has been interoperability tested with multiple vendor solutions at recent SIPit organized test events. Trillium H.248/MEGACO is widely deployed by global customers for Media Gateways, Media Gateway Controllers and softswitches. The updated stack will support H.248 version 2; UDP UDP (uridine diphosphate): see uracil. (User Datagram Protocol) A protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite that is used in place of TCP when a reliable delivery is not required. , TCP, SCTP and MTP3-B/M3UA transport options; ASN (1) (Autonomous System Number) A unique identifier of an autonomous system on the Internet. Of the 65 thousand ASNs available, more than 30 thousand have been assigned to ISPs and NSPs. ISPs usually have only one ASN, but NSPs may have more than one. .1 and ABNF parsing schemes; and all basic and extended packages including those specified by 3GPP for specific use in R5/R6 network architecture. It also features the addition of the redundancy module based on Trillium DFT/HA architecture and now delivers even greater performance for Media Gateways and Media Gateway Controllers. The new Trillium IP-BCP stack is compliant with Q.1970 and Q.1990 and is used for the exchange of media stream characteristics, port numbers and IP addresses of the source and destination of a media stream to establish and allow the modification of IP bearers.
