Continuing Growth For WPI Group's Industrial Technology Products; Four Orders Total More Than $1.2 Million.

WPI GROUP, INC. (NASDAQ/National:WPIC) today announced that a world-leading telecommunications equipment provider has placed a major order for digital panel meters used in back-up power supplies. The WPI panel meters are used in equipment that monitors battery voltage levels. The order is valued at $415,000 over twelve months, beginning in August of this year. Follow-on orders are anticipated. Additionally, the Company announced nearly $600,000 in follow-on orders from two leading providers of medical endoscopy systems. The orders are for WPI's SAFEARC(R) 100 Watt Xenon and also its metal halide electronic ballasts. The ballasts power lamps that are the light source for performing minimally invasive surgery. WPI has also received a $200,000 order from a world-leading glass and ceramics manufacturer for power conversion equipment used in an industrial furnace application.
