No matter whether foods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction materials or animal feeds are involved, their moisture content critically affects the quality, processability and price of their raw, intermediate and end products. Moisture analysis is a key component of any quality assurance process. With its two new analyser series--the PMD320 and the LMA320--Sartorius offers ultramodern standards based on microwave resonance technology. These analysers deliver fast and precise moisture and density determinations that are independent of density and are suitable for in-process use and laboratory applications. Like its predecessor, the newly modelled LMA320 series is suitable for moisture analysis in pourable, granulated and panel-shaped products such as wooden platforms. Moisture contents ranging from 0.05% to approximately 60% can be determined without a problem. Using the proprietary biparametric method, the LMA320 series can additionally measure a product's moisture content regardless of its density. This method performs non-destructive measurements, leaving them available for further use. The modular system, featuring a variety of sensor types and sensitivities, is essentially maintenance-free, whereas its fast measuring times offer optimal solutions for customer-specific applications.
