Continental puts Setzer at car tire helm.


Nikolai Setzer has assumed temporary management of Continental's Car Tire Division, in addition to the position he already holds as head of the Replacement Business Car and Light Truck Tire Division Europe Europe (yr`əp), 6th largest continent, c.4,000,000 sq mi (10,360,000 sq km) including adjacent islands (1992 est. pop. 512,000,000).  and Africa. In his new function, he will report to board director Hans-Joachim Nikolin, who represents the Commercial Vehicle Tire Division, and also, for the time being, the Car Tire Division. There will be no change to the current structure of the two tire divisions.

Setzer is a graduated industrial engineer, who studied at the University of Darmstadt Darmstadt (därm`shtät), city (1994 pop. 139,750), Hesse, central Germany. It is a commercial, industrial, and transportation center; its manufactures include chemicals, machinery, and pharmaceuticals. . Since joining Continental in 1997, he has held various positions, including head of the global Original Equipment Car Tire Business with DaimlerChrysler, head of Research & Development Car Tires and global Original Equipment Activities Car Tires. These positions involved more than two years working in the U.S. In September September: see month.  2008, he became head of the Replacement Business Car Tires for Europe and Africa, as well as being responsible for the global marketing activities of the Car Tire Division.
