) announced the closing on the acquisition of a southwest Michigan hauling company, Reliable Disposal, Inc.

Reliable, which generates approximately $6MM in revenue, owns and operates two transfer stations in South Haven There are a few places named South Haven in the United States:
  • South Haven, Indiana
  • South Haven, Kansas
  • South Haven, Michigan
  • South Haven, Minnesota
 and Stevensville, Mich. and provides collection, transfer and recycling services in four counties in the southwest Michigan area.

The acquisition was the second this quarter for the company, which recently completed the acquisition of Statewide Environmental in New Jersey.

Continental provides integrated solid waste management services to residential, commercial and industrial customers concentrated in the eastern half of the United States and in Costa Rica. These services include non-hazardous landfill disposal, solid waste collection, and transfer station operations.

Continental currently owns and operates 10 landfills, 10 collection operations, 16 transfer stations, 4 recycling facilities, and employs over 800 persons.
