Continental Stone assessed $3,000 environmental penalty.


STERLING - The Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) assessed a $3,000 penalty to Continental Stone Marble and Granite granite, coarse-grained igneous rock of even texture and light color, composed chiefly of quartz and feldspars. Since the inspection, Continental Stone has stopped discharging wastewater to the ground and has installed a system to better treat and handle its wastewater.

The company agreed to maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and pay the $3,000 penalty.
