Continental General Tire's plant in Mayfield Mayfield, city (1990 pop. 9,935), seat of Graves co., SW Ky., in an area of farms and clay deposits; founded 1823. It is an agricultural trade center with a tobacco market. , KY will increase production by 2,000 tires a day, since it was named sole supplier of tires for Ford's 2003 Expedition sport utility vehicle. The production increase will require 65 new employees.
