Continental Cablevision to Offer StarSight in California; Continental Becomes First Cable Company to Offer StarSight-Capable Advanced Analog Set-top Boxes.

), the leader in electronic program guides (EPGs), today announced that Continental Cablevision will offer StarSight-capable advanced analog set-top boxes from Scientific-Atlanta to Continental's Western Region customers.

Continental will be the first cable operator to offer StarSight on the Scientific-Atlanta 8600X advanced analog set-top box. Continental is the nation's third largest broadband telecommunications company See telecom company.  serving more than 4.2 million customers in 20 states. The Western Region serves 911,000 customers in four western states and passes more than 2 million homes.
